Juan Antonio Parrilla


Born in Castellar (Jaén) in 1989, he currently works as Technical Marketing Director at Picualia, a leading company in the production, packaging and marketing of extra virgin olive oil in the world and as Prof. Dr. In the Department of Economics Applied from the University of Jaén.

Doctor in Economics from the University of Jaén with special mention Cum Laude, he has a Diploma in Business Studies and a Degree in Business Administration and Management from the same University.

In his postgraduate training he holds a Master’s degree in Economics and Territorial Development from the University of Jaén and in his specialization in Marketing he studied the Master in Marketing and Commercial Management (GESCO) by the ESIC business school, number one in Spain and seventh in the European ranking.

On a professional level, he has been coordinator of the Agrifood Cooperatives Project and promotion of the use of social networks and electronic commerce of which the Hon. Provincial Council of Jaén, Olivar Foundation, University of Jaén and Cooperatives Agroalimentarias de Jaén.

In his publications, he emphasizes his contribution in the manuals “Economy and commercialization of olive oils. Factors and perspectives for the Spanish leadership of the global market ”,“ Development of Leaders Leaders for the sustainable development of organizations and institutions ”or“ The end of the olive sector (as we know it) ”.

Regarding publications, the national and international research articles in the Journal of Regional Studies, Tourism Studies and Perspectives and Tourism Notebooks stand out.

Performs strategic consulting work for companies linked to local development, highlighting the talent attraction and business project of the Industrial Estate of Guadiel, developed in 2018 in Guarromán (Jaén).
